A Different Journey by Brian D'Arcy (C.P.)
A Different Journey by Brian D'Arcy (C.P.)
Brian D’Arcy’s autobiography is his story of struggle between his human nature and God’s calling to him. As a Passionist priest he found a way of combining his love for music and sport by becoming chaplain to the entertainment industry and playing football for charities. He has integrated a successful career in journalism and broadcasting with his priesthood holding integrity in a Church that has disappointed and betrayed many and he still found a ministry that speaks to those living both in the mainstream and on the margins.
Brian entered a Church that had hardly changed in 300 years and faced those post Vatican II turbulent years of radical changes when, to the mind of some, the Catholic Church seemed set to self-destruct. He personally suffered, faced and confronted abusive behaviour covered over by that self-same Church. Why has Brian remained a priest? The answer lies somewhere in the parable of his life-story.
